Got back from Boston today. P’s grandma died rather suddenly on Friday, and we left on short order for her memorial. She passed away leaving behind 14 great grandchildren! I learned a lot about her life this weekend. I also learned a lot about Marie Brennan as a person – this was particularly wonderful. It feels good when someone compliments you or tells a story about something you’ve done. It feels even better when someone shows that they really know who you are, and I think this is usually revealed in the smaller things. Even though it wasn’t written down, people knew how Nana would have wanted things done, for example, exactly which outfit she would want to be wearing (her blue suit). These details were special.
