You’ve all been in our prayers for over a year now – we can’t wait to see Joe dance an Irish jig, after all he will have Patrick’s youthful kidney!!

Gave A Bean
Hi,
Patrick is a remarkable person. I don’t know him but because I’ve gone thru this myself as a donor I can tell you, his friends and family, that it isn’t easy. Anyone who gives a part of themselves to save another is kind, generous, and especially brave.
Patrick, if you want some online support or have questions you might want to visit http://www.livingdonorsonline.org. Your Dad might find http://www.transplantbuddies.org helpful.
Best Wishes to all of you.

Been thinking about you all over the past weeks, months… I have Joe’s transplant written on my calendar posted on the fridge. A bit weird to look at…
As a nurse here in Boston, I’ve had the opportunity to work with recipients and the privilege to take care of the donors as well. Just yesterday I took care of a recipient. Her husband gave her his healthy “peeing” kidney. She never knew he peed so much and doesn’t mind at all!!
The Mahoney/Funiciello family have you both in our thoughts and prayers. You too Peggy and Matthew!!

Your post auto-linked to one I wrote. I’m on the verge of donating a kidney to my dad in a few weeks. I was trying to see if there were any follow-up posts to this one. Please let me know if there are as I’d love to know how things turned out afterwards.

Hi just wanted to say a few words!
I just read your (Patrick) comment on Terri Terri blog! What a gift! Thanks for sharing your story! I can’t even imagine what a decision this would be! You and Teri are heros! The fact you both are donating to save a life! Amazing! I am glad that all went well with the surgery and you and your dad are doing well! The fact that under a “general anesthetic, you were both concerned with one another? That is true concern & love at it’s most honest! Sedation will get people to say things honestly, with no inhibitions! I work for a Doctor, Believe me we have heard people being a little “too honest!” Amazing, you are just amazing!
