There are three things I like to learn about people soon after I meet them:
1. Do they have siblings, and, if so, are they oldest, youngest, or in the middle?
2. What times do they like to go to bed at night and get up in the morning?
3. Did they have any painfully dorky childhood years?
I think you can tell a lot about a person based on their answers to these questions. So, as an introduction:
1. I have a younger sister. People always accurately guess that I’m an older one. Sometimes I wish they’d guess younger because I think of younger siblings as being more fun.
2. I usually go to bed around 11:00 and get up around 8:00. My body would be happy to shift both of these times in the earlier direction.
3. Yes, I had some dorky times, particularly 5th grade. I distinctly remember being one of the last two people chosen for some PE team, and thinking to myself, “oh no, this is really bad.”
What about you?
And before I go, I should show you this. Who thinks of this stuff? I can’t get the voices out of my head.

Good to hear from you! I am bummed that we will be back in MI when you and Patrick visit for Mary’s wedding.
YES, I had siblings – 5 of them. I am # 4 in line but was both the first girl ( a big plus til sister #2 came along), and also the oldest of the little kids – which was status since we divided ourselves into the big kids (1st three) and the little kids.
My awakening and bedtime hours vary but when I am in a “normal” state, I go to bed between 10-11 pm and awaken at 7:30-8:30 am.
The fortunate situation of going to a little country school with only 10 kids in our class, is that no one knew what dorky was. We all thought we were cool (which could mean the rest of the world thought we were ALL dorky, but who cares).

This is wonderful – I love the beautiful things you share. Except for Charlie the unicorn. That was heinous and now I can’t get the voices out of my head, either. Andrea – for God’s sake: Use your powers for good and not evil!
(I love you!)

Let’s see. . .
1. Older sis (2.5 yrs) and younger sis (10 yrs). At least I was well trained that the toilet seat stays DOWN! Never mess with a sister who falls in the toilet!!
2. I usually go to bed around 11pm, and up at 5:30am (weekdays). I think I’d prefer to bed at 12am and up at 8am. I’ve learned to HATE my alarm clock – foul, demon spawn of an invention. I’m not bitter, really!
3. Really, who didn’t have their dorky phase? Oh the painful memories of playing Wonder Woman in the backyard with friends. . . if only there weren’t witnesses – I was pretty good at the Wonder Woman spin though. Too bad I didn’t have those killer wrist cuffs.
